President’s Message

As I write this message with a week of June already behind us, no doubt most of you are in full  construction mode weather you are involved in Signals, Street Lights, Signs or Striping. This year’s AGM was held in conjunction with the ITE Atlantic section annual meetings and seminars on May 13th in Dartmouth N.S. As your new president I would like to take this opportunity to thank those that attended along with the suppliers and manufactures that made up the trade show. This is always a great opportunity to discuss new methods and technologies with the representatives from each company. We certainly appreciate the technical expertise they bring to the trade show.

I would also like to thank your past President Eric Kidson for his dedication and work during his two year term.  We are still a relatively new section with certain issues to be worked out, one of which is becoming incorporated. Eric along with Perry Hill, John Hopkins and Troy Nauss has been instrumental in getting this process underway and continues to be involved.

Looking to the future the Executive will meet sometime in September to discuss upcoming Technical sessions and the 2011 certification courses. If you have any ideas or topics for future technical sessions please contact any member of the Executive.

In closing I keep hearing that we are going to have a long hot dry summer but here in the Fredericton area we received 75 to 100mm of rain last week. So that should mean the rain is done for the summer and you need to load up on sunscreen. Regardless of the weather I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer.
